The Tour
Many associate the City of London with hard-headed workers, profit margins and impersonal businesses. We see only the soaring office blocks and forget the people. Many of these people have extended very real helping hands to those in need, and continue to do so.
Bankers and merchants, churchmen and artists: all have sought to improve life and help those in need. They have worked to promote peace, to encourage reconciliation, and to inspire others to selflessness.
A telephone, a bridge and a terrorist bomb have all been unlikely foundations for enterprises which have sought to make life better in so many ways.
But none of these would have succeeded without people prepared to make themselves available to help.
Come visit some of the places where London’s citizens have sought to harness the wealth and resources of the City to help those in need.
And let their examples encourage you to see the positive side of human nature!
