Guided tours by a Londoner with a taste for the hidden and unnoticed
Welcome to Charnowalks!
I’m David Charnick. I offer a number of guided walking tours in London, particularly in the City and in the East End. Please click HERE for details of tours available over the coming weeks. Each scheduled tour lasts approximately two hours, unless specified otherwise.
I’m a lifelong Londoner, and I know many of its more obscure nooks and crannies. So much goes unnoticed; so many hidden surprises await you on the streets of London.
How does It Work?
I have tours scheduled for most Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Please click on the Schedule tab to see details of the tours being offered over the next few weeks. If you’d like to book one of my tours for a time more convenient to yourself, please contact me to arrange this: it could be cheaper than you think!
Hover your cursor on the ‘The Tours’ tab, and you will see that the tours I offer in the City, in the East End, and in other parts of London are arranged conveniently on separate pages. Also you will see that some of my tours have been gathered together by theme as well! These themes are Before the Fire, Crime and the Law, Page and Stage and Philanthropy. I’m also looking to develop Engineering, though at present I have only one engineering tour – Engineering Change.
All tours are available with step-free routes: please let me know if you have access issues. My tours can of course be adapted according to your needs. Moreover, I create bespoke tours at reasonable rates.
While this site lists the tours currently in my repertoire, I do add new tours; to keep informed of developments, please contact me to be added to my mailing list.
Don’t just take my word for it that I can give you a good time on the streets of London! Listen to what these kindly people have to say:
“David was a fantastic guide, and we all enjoyed his numerous stories and appreciated his willingness to answer our questions” (HS, London)
“Future visitors would be well advised to hire Mr Charnick’s talents to enrich their knowledge about this fascinating town, with or without fog” (NB, New York)
“I have brought friends and family members on a couple of Dave’s walks and every single person told me afterwards (when we were speaking alone) that they enjoyed the walks very much” (DW, Theydon Bois)
“The level of knowledge on Charnowalks feels much deeper than on other walks I have been on” (MJ, Cambridge)
